What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The Comprehensive Plan will include information about the Town and guide local planning for future land conservation and development, infrastructure projects, hamlet character, housing needs and town services.
A Comprehensive Plan for a town is sometimes called a Master Plan. These terms are often used interchangeably.
The Comprehensive Plan will guide future changes to the Town’s zoning and other local laws, but the Plan is a policy document and not a law or regulation.
After the Comprehensive Plan is adopted by the Town Board, it will become the basis for revising zoning codes, guide the Planning Board in its development reviews, and support grant applications for the Town’s highest priority projects.
